for Morgan County Commissioner
Welcome, and thanks for stopping by my official campaign site.
My name is Ryan Goodwin, current president of the Morgan County Council, and I seek to represent District 3 as the next member of the Board of County Commissioners. Though each commissioner is elected county-wide, and serves all residents in the county, the District 3 commissioner has a specific responsibility to Brown, Madison, Clay and Harrison Townships, as its district representative.
In every county in Indiana except Marion County, county residents elect three commissioners – two in the presidential election year and one the mid-term election cycle. These three individuals make up the board of county commissioners, who are collectively discharged with responsibility of managing and leading the day-to-day business of the county. This includes activities such as maintaining county properties, providing county roadways and bridges, furthering economic development, providing park and recreation facilities, and enacting local ordinances. It is a position of great responsibility.
My leadership experience on the Morgan County Council – the county’s budgetary authority – and my service in the private sector, in both business and public safety, uniquely qualify me for this position.
Morgan County is a wonderful place with great promise and I desire to see that promise fulfilled through effective, efficient and thoughtful county leadership.
I humbly ask for your support on May 3rd, 2016!
